On occasion, the consumer may either forget to eSign, or decide that they are uncomfortable eSigning their documents prior to the in-person signing appointment.
If the consumer forgets to eSign, settlement has the ability to send reminders prior to the appointment to let the consumer know they still need to complete eSigning.
To send a reminder, you can navigate to the eSign Status section of the closing and click on “Send an eSign reminder”. From the drop down menu, you can select the option to either send an email reminder, or send a text message reminder.
In the event that you send a few reminders and they still do not eSign, and have not opted out themselves, you will need to either:
- Help them eSign at the in-person appointment OR
- Convert the closing to a full wet-sign closing.
You can convert to a full wet-sign closing by clicking “convert to wet closing” in the Unsigned Documents panel.
