On occasion, the consumer may either forget to eSign, or decide that they are uncomfortable eSigning their documents prior to the in-person signing appointment.
If the consumer forgets to eSign, settlement has the ability to send reminders prior to the appointment to let the consumer know they still need to complete eSigning.
By navigating to the Closing Documents section of the closing, you will notice three dots next to the eSign status. Clicking this will give you the option to either send an eSign reminder, or convert to a full wet-sign closing.
In the event that you send a few reminders and they still do not eSign, and have not opted out themselves, you will need to either:
- Help them eSign at the in-person appointment OR
- Convert the closing to a full wet-sign closing.
As outlined in the image above, you can convert to a full wet-sign closing through the icon in the "closing documents" panel.
Additionally, you can convert the closing by navigating to the Reference Documents panel and clicking "convert to a wet-sign closing".
