Snapdocs has made significant updates across lender, title, and signer experiences to optimize the platform for Remote Online Notarization (RON) closings.
Borrower RON readiness checklist
-
What is it? The borrower RON readiness checklist has been created to help borrowers gather all the necessary items and prepare for their upcoming RON closing appointment.
-
Where can you find it? The borrower RON readiness checklist is located in the signer’s dashboard, in the RON appointment section.
Updated language for users processing RON redraws
-
What is it? Snapdocs now displays a more informative pop-up message to inform users that RON redraws may require additional processing time.
New rules for updating closing appointment times
-
What is it? Snapdocs enforces a 3-hour waiting period after the most recent document upload before allowing further changes to closing appointment times. Settlement agents who try to change the closing appointment time during this period will see an error message.
-
Where can you find it? This error message can appear in two places: in the task list on the settlement agent's view of a closing and on the 'Edit' closing page.
RON Cancellation/Conversion Tracking Pop-Up
-
What is it? Snapdocs has added a new feature to the RON platform. When a closing is canceled or converted to a new closing type users are now prompted to enter a reason for the change. This information helps Snapdocs collect data for future improvements.
-
Where can you find it? The Cancellation/Conversion Tracking Pop-up appears in two places:
-
On the lender's closing view: When changing the closing status to 'canceled'.
-
On the 'Edit' closing page: When changing the closing type from 'full eClosing' to another option.
-
Title documents opt-out capability
-
What is it? This new feature gives lenders and settlement teams the option to opt-out of adding title documents when they’re not needed for a closing transaction.
-
Opting out is automatically logged in the audit trail, and both lenders and settlement agents have the option to UNDO this selection.

New and Revised RON platform emails
Snapdocs has added some new emails (and updated current emails) to streamline communication for all parties throughout the RON closing process.
New Email Notification: Reminder to upload title documents
-
What is it? This email prompts settlement agents to upload title documents before closing. It ensures timely submission of necessary paperwork, helping to reduce delays in the closing process.
-
The email is sent as a reminder to settlement agents 2 days before the closing, at 9am and 2pm.
-
The email is NOT sent out if title documents are disabled via feature policy for RON closings.
-
New Email Notification: Reminder to upload title documents & verify or set signing appointment details

-
The email is sent out 2 days before the closing at 9am and 2pm.
-
The email is only sent when title documents have not been uploaded AND appointment details have not been set.
-
The email is NOT sent out if title documents are disabled via feature policy .
-

-

Email Notification Update: Reminder to verify or set signing appointment details
-
What is it? This notification serves as a reminder to settlement agents to either verify existing signing appointment details (or set new ones if they haven't been established yet). It's a critical step in the closing process that helps prevent scheduling conflicts and ensures all parties are aligned.
-
The email is only sent if there are no specific appointment details added (not a date range).

Additional RON Features
Ability to disable title documents on a company level
-
What is it? Disabling title documents streamlines your closing process when these documents aren't needed. If RON transactions will never require title documents (or if title documents will always be uploaded by the lender) this feature can be turned off for all RON transactions.
-
Removing the title document upload option from your settlement interface stops related email reminders from being sent.
