You can select your exact preferences for the credentials that notaries who work with your company should have.
For companies with Snapdocs Verified enabled, there are additional preferences that you can customize to make that classification even more stringent.
Note: Only a company team member with Admin permissions can access and edit your Verified Notary Preferences.
How to find and adjust preferences
Step 1: Access the Verified Notary Preferences section on your Settings page.
Note: This is above the Notary Search Preferences section which is very similar.
Step 2: Check or uncheck each preference to match the needs of your company.
- Disallow expired driver's licenses: If this is selected, a notary will not be listed as Snapdocs Verified if their driver's license has expired.
- Require state-specific credentials: If this setting is on, notaries in Maryland, Indiana, and Minnesota will only appear as Snapdocs Verified if they have uploaded their respective state-specific additional documents and they have been verified by Snapdocs.
- Require NNA certification: If this setting is on, notaries will only appear as Snapdocs Verified if they have passed the NNA Certification Exam and have the same email address and phone number in both their NNA profile Snapdocs profile so that the information syncs within our system. You can choose how long an NNA certification is valid for by entering a number of years.
- Background check is valid for: This is where you can choose how long a background check report is valid for. If you choose 2 years, notaries who have a background check report uploaded that is more than 2 years old will not be listed as Snapdocs Verified.
Step 3: Scroll to the very bottom of the page and select Save.
Note: If a notary does not meet one of these additional qualifications, you will be able to see exactly why they are not Snapdocs Verified at the bottom of their profile, along with any other Snapdocs Verified standards they do not meet.
