You now have the ability to add a witness requirement and witness fee at a product level. When the witness requirement is added, notaries will see the witness fee in the new signing alert and will have to confirm that they can provide a witness before accepting the signing. This feature increases efficiency as schedulers will no longer need to manually add a witness fee, and they will no longer need to manually reach out to the notary to confirm that they can provide a witness.
Once you edit an existing product or create a new product, you will see a “require witness” toggle option:
When the witness toggle is turned on in product settings, the witness fee section will appear. We will show you what the total notary and client fee amount will be with the witness fee added. You can also select if the notary is required to bring one witness or two. One witness will be the default selection.
You can quickly see if a product has the witness requirement turned on from the main product list:
When a product with a witness fee is selected during order creation we will show the witness fee on a separate line item so schedulers can easily see that a witness is required for this order:
Since the witness fee is added at the product level, schedulers are not able to remove the witness fee on the order. They can only add or subtract adjustments on a separate line. To remove the witness fee, they will need to change the product type.
When the notary receives the signing request they will see the witness requirement along with the witness fee, and they will be required to select that they understand the requirement.
