To help you easily keep track of all your certifications and other documents, several types or categories of credentials can either be uploaded or completed.
Your Credentials page is where you can keep and manage all of your credentials.
W-9
In order to receive payment from companies you work with, you'll need to fill out a W-9. Follow the instructions here to fill out your W-9.
Notary Commission
Show companies that you are an active notary public by uploading your notary commission. Having a verified notary commission is a requirement to become Snapdocs Verified.
Background Check Report
Having a verified background check report is a requirement to become Snapdocs Verified.
E&O Insurance
Having a verified E&O policy is a requirement to become Snapdocs Verified, although Snapdocs does not require a minimum amount of E&O insurance.
ID Verification
Verify your ID to demonstrate that you are who you say are. Having a verified ID is a requirement to become Snapdocs Verified. Follow the instructions here to verify your ID.
Note: ID verification can only be completed using a valid, non-expired U.S. driver's license. State IDs cannot be used, as some of the most stringent companies look for signing agents to specifically hold a valid driver's license.
Notary Bond
If you're located or commissioned in a state that requires notaries to be bonded, you can upload your surety bond to submit it for verification. Depending on which state you're in, having a verified bond may or may not be part of the requirements to become Snapdocs Verified - you can learn more here.
Title Insurance Producer Independent Contractor
If you're located or commissioned in Maryland or Indiana, you can upload your title producer license to submit it for verification. While your TIPIC license doesn't count towards being Snapdocs Verified, many companies do look for signing agents to provide proof that they are a licensed title insurance producer.
Closing Agent License
If you're located or commissioned in Minnesota, you can upload your closing agent license to submit it for verification. While your closing agent license does not count towards being Snapdocs Verified, many companies do look for signing agents to provide proof that they are a licensed closing agent.
NNA Certification
Some companies prefer to work with signing agents who are NNA certified. Snapdocs does not require notary signing agents to be NNA certified. However, if you are, you can follow the instructions here to easily show companies that you have been certified by the NNA.
Note: Snapdocs is not affiliated with the NNA.
Bar Card
If you are an attorney, you can choose to upload your bar card to show companies that you are indeed a licensed attorney.
Additional Credential
There are many more certifications and credentials that notary signing agents can obtain, outside of what has been listed here so far. For that reason, if you do have any other documents that don't fit under a category we provide, you can upload them as additional documents.
If you are RON (Remote Online Notarization) or IPEN (In-Person Electronic Notary) certified, you can indicate these on your profile by adding these certifications in the language field on your profile, but you must upload proof of certification on the Credentials page. You can follow a step-by-step guide on how to add these certifications here: How to Indicate That You Are RON/IPEN Commissioned.
Important Note Regarding Additional Credentials
Note: Documents uploaded as additional documents are not verified and do not count towards your Snapdocs Verified status.
This means that if you upload a commission, background check, E&O policy, bond, or driver's license as an additional credential, we will not verify the document and the documents are unable to be accurately categorized. Companies are also unable to filter for additional documents, which means you may be filtered out of the search results if a company is looking for signing agents to have one of the above credentials.
For example, if you have an E&O uploaded as an additional document and a company is filtering for notaries who have uploaded an E&O policy, you'll be filtered out since the document was uploaded as an additional document instead of as E&O insurance. To resolve this, just upload your document under its correct category and it will be submitted for verification.
